Compressor station Legden

Last project module completed

The commissioning of the Legden compressor station in summer 2024 marked the completion of the ZEELINK project, which allows OGE to make a substantial contribution to the security of natural gas supplies, also in terms of providing new flow directions!

In addition to the compressor station in Legden, the project includes the already completed ZEELINK natural gas pipeline and another compressor station in Würselen. The compressor stations ensure the north-to-south and south-to-north transport of natural gas, guaranteeing a continuous flow of gas.

In addition to the facilities required for operation, the Legden compressor station also features maintenance and office buildings with amenities. The site extends over an area of 4.5 hectares and, thanks to a specially designed green belt around the plant, blends in visually with the landscape. The compressor units each have a shaft output of 13 megawatts. The station has received recognition for is its energy-efficient technology, which makes complex exhaust gas post-treatment obsolete.
