Technical operation

As the largest gas transmission system operator in Germany, we are primarily focused on security of supply. Guaranteeing this requires maintenance and servicing of our systems at over 40 locations nationwide as one of our most important tasks. At the same time, we convert pipelines, upgrade them, or build them from scratch — for example for the hydrogen core network. read more

Technical projects

We have various projects in the pipeline to drive forward the energy transition in Germany. In addition to the continued need to expand the existing natural gas infrastructure (e.g. pipelines linking to LNG terminals), one focus of our projects is on ramping up the hydrogen infrastructure. read more

Network planning and control

The central control room, also known as the Dispatching Centre, is at the heart of our pipeline network. This is where our pipelines, systems and gas flows are monitored and controlled 24/7. First and foremost, we handle our customers’ transportation requests here, i.e. we ensure that the gas is delivered efficiently to the right place at the right time. If something is not running smoothly, we can intervene and change course from our control room at any time. read more

For this complex role, we need real experts who can maintain an overview and keep calm — such as engineers with a background in mathematics or physics.

Central service functions

Our headquarters and another location in Essen are home to the teams in charge of our central service functions. Human resources, procurement, finance, communication, strategy and business development, for example, all work closely together. read more
